Employment Standards

Recruitment

Action: PathFactory has implemented measures to ensure job applicants are notified about the availability of reasonable accommodations. PathFactory will review and make necessary adjustments to our existing recruitment policies, procedures, and templates. The company will continually update new job postings and specify that accommodations are available to applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment process. PathFactory will inform both internal and external job applicants when they are individually selected to participate in an assessment that accommodations are available upon request in relation to the materials or processes to be used. If a selected applicant requests an accommodation, PathFactory will consult with the applicant and provide or arrange for the provision of a suitable accommodation, having regard for the applicant’s accessibility needs. When making an offer of employment, PathFactory will notify the successful applicant of the policies for accommodating workers with disabilities at the time of the offer.

Employee Supports

Action: PathFactory will ensure that managers are aware of their responsibility to consider the specific accessibility needs of employees with disabilities and the Individual Accommodation Plans in performance management processes, when providing career development and advancement opportunities and when considering redeployment of employees with disabilities. PathFactory will notify employees of policies used to support employees with disabilities, including policies on the provision of job accommodation that take into account the employee’s accessibility needs. PathFactory will provide information to new employees as soon as practicable after they begin their employment and provide suitable accommodations required by employees to perform their job duties or access information available to employees in the workplace. When requested by an employee, PathFactory will consult with the employee to provide or arrange for the provision of accessible formats and communication supports for information that is needed in order to perform the employee’s job and also for information generally available to employees in the workplace. The employee will be consulted to determine the suitability of an accessible format or communication support.

Individual Accommodation Plans and Return to Work Process

Action: PathFactory has an accommodation process in order to provide an inclusive environment and equal access and participation for persons with disabilities. PathFactory will explore accommodation options to remove barriers once it has been made aware of an employee or candidate who requires accommodation. PathFactory will review the Individual Accommodation Plan (IAP) for employees with disabilities and update it as needed. The IAP will be reviewed and updated if the employee’s work location or position changes or if the nature of the employee’s disability changes. PathFactory will provide Individualized Workplace Emergency Response Information to employees who have a disability if the disability is such that the emergency response information is necessary and PathFactory is aware of the need for accommodation due to the disability. This information will be reviewed and updated as needed. This may include designating a person to provide assistance as part of the individualized workplace emergency response with the consent of the employee. PathFactory will prepare Return-to-Work plans for employees who have been absent from work due to a disability and who require disability-related accommodation to return to work. Information provided in any accommodation plans will remain confidential and will be shared only as needed for the accommodation process.
